About crayonsencore

I am teaching myself how to do illustrations for the stories that I want to tell. I started blogging in 2004, using crayons.

Love those lanterns…wish I could be there to see the procession (no doubt there will be sketches???).
Lovely to visit your blog and see your sketches again. They are such fun!

I love your blog! The drawings are so lovely, it makes me happy to read (and see!) your posts.

  3. Greetings Caroline,

I am so very happy that you are back sharing your artwork and your story brings back memories of an early childhood.

    Thank you for sharing.

    Warmest regards this holiday season,
    Egmont

Hi CB — that sounds like it was a lot of fun! I admire you for branching into water colors as you have in this blog. I can see that it’s a challenge, but please know the panels are all beautiful works of art and in each panel, the water colors have a calming sense about them. DB

    Dear Caroline,

I did get your message. Thank you. My mom thought very highly of your blog and your art and your humor. I wish she could have seen this rebirth of your “crayons.” I love the lanterns very much and the chance to bring it all to fruition is a lovely gift. Create on. Kitty

Oh, what a treat! This post evoked so many thoughts and I’m having difficulty putting them into words right now. I hope I can share them with you, when I see you! I love the lanterns!

  8. Hi Caroline!

I am so glad that you are back! 🙂
And thank you for taking time to visit my blog and inform me of your return…
I like seeing your artworks changed from crayons and now into watercolor.

    I liked your storytelling here… 😀
I just knew that you guys celebrate the solstice. Nice!
And of course, your artwork is great… Especially on the part of bending and taping those willow shoots. Every character there has a distinct form and activity… 🙂

By the way, I have already moved my blog to another site due to some technicalities.
I loved my old site because it carries my username but I have to start anew…

    So here it is:

    Be well!

Your watercolor drawings are wonderful! I’m so glad you’re blogging again.

  10. Deborah Sproule says:

    Love your lantern illustrations Caroline.
Hope I can see your lantern tonight at the procession.
How did you get the little black snowflake specks on your blog?
Do you scan your 2d images to the blog spot?
    Cheers!

Love this post, Carolyn, always wanted to try doing this…

I second what David B says! And….the frame with the people gathered round the table working must have taken HOURS. You are so good at capturing personalities and different body types. Impressive
